How I miss fall in Ohio

Beijing is a really fun city, and it is beautiful at night with lots of people and lights everywhere. However, it does not have the same fall feeling like good old Ohio. Who would have ever thought that I would miss Ohio, not me that is for sure. This weekend has been the most beautiful weekend I have had in Beijing because it is cool here, I can wear jeans and a sweater and be perfect outside, and we have had blue skies for three days in a row! This weekend had extra special meaning to me and actually made me feel homesick because we were able to see a little bit of pink in the sky on the way to dinner (we never see color from the sunset) and on the way home we were able to see three stars in the sky. We have also seen the moon all last week, it has been shining bright.

While it has been beautiful here the colors are not changing yet and I have heard that the colors change really fast here. I know that Ohio looks beautiful right now with the colored leaves and the golden cornfields. It makes me miss all of the fun fall activities there is to do b/c there are not good fall activities to do here. However, we are getting ready for our big Halloween party that we put on for the whole school (thousands of kids). We dress up and create games that they can play for candy. I have heard that is a blast and I cannot wait. There will be pictures to come on that activity.

So all of you enjoy fall and the fun activities, carve a pumpkin for me eat lots of good candy!

You will only have the miss the fall weather one season. I love the haircut but I won't show it to Caitlin or she will get ideas. Enjoy your time while you are there and know you are loved and missed by all of the family. If you miss us, then I know you won't get any ideas about staying another year like your brother.

Liv, I'm so sorry that you don't get to experience fall like you are used to. I feel like this fall I am experiencing seasonal traditions for the first time. Having been in college for the past four falls this is the first one back that I get to do all the fun stuff. Yesterday we went to a pumpkin farm and picked out pumpkins, searched our way through a muddy cornmaze, and broused through a local produce shop. It was fun. I'll post pics on facebook for you to see. It is weird to me to be able to do all of this again with my family and not be in school. I will definitely be thinking of you when I carve my pumpkin!! Much love, dear friend!!

Liv... if I carve a pumpkin I'll try my best to make it look like you! I know thoes kids are going to have fun at that shcool halloween party... I mean, if you're comming up with the games, how could they not?

Also, I agree with Cindy... no crazy Ideas about another year no matter how much fun you're havng. There has to be a limit to how much fun one person can have! :)

Love you friend.
